WVU football added 11 JUCO players to the program's roster in December during the Early Signing Period for the Class of 2026, but they don't seem to be done yet.
The Mountaineers are still dialing in on potential prospects at the JUCO level, and have extended offers to two more targets, including one All-American.
The Mountaineers made offers earlier this week to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M defensive back Ta'Vari Hampton and Iowa Western EDGE Jeremy Lewis.
Hampton was named a First-Team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference and Second-Team JUCO All-American selection this past season, racking up 115 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, nine pass breakups, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 2025. He is set to visit the Mountaineers on January 6, and also has a visit lined up to Purdue. He recently committed to UTEP, but the interest from Power 4 competition may be hard to pass up for the rising prospect.
Lewis, meanwhile, is ranked the sixth-best EDGE nationally in the JUCO Class of 2026, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. He originally committed to the Iowa State Cyclones during the Early Signing Period, but decommitted just weeks later in the aftermath of Matt Campbell leaving the program and taking the job at Penn State.
Lewis recorded 41 tackles (15.5 TFLs), nine sacks, four fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles last season for the Reivers as they won the 2025 NJCAA Division 1 National Championship.
If the Mountaineers land the pair of JUCO prospects, it will boost the numbers and stature of an already impressive signing class for 2026, as the Mountaineers currently have a 49-player class signed.
