You would think coming out of a bye week entering the final season of the year, the injury bug might finally stop biting WVU football. But if you assumed that, you'd be wrong.

Rich Rodriguez made an appearance for the 12th and final edition of The Rich Rodriguez Show this season on Monday evening, and he broke the tough news for West Virginia fans that WVU has yet another starter down with an injury, and it has come in the room you want to see it the least – the running back room.

The Mountaineers have already lost Jahiem White and Tye Edwards for the season, and Clay Ash and Tyler Jacklich have also been struggling with injuries over the last two games and were missing from action in the team's recent loss to Arizona State. On Monday, Rodriguez announced that Diore Hubbard is also injured and will miss the final game of the season against Texas Tech.

Hubbard had filled the starting role for the Mountaineers in multiple games this season, and has been the go-to player in the backfield in recent games. He will finish the season with 335 rushing yards and four touchdowns, as well as 156 receiving yards.

Rodriguez seemed to indicate that Ash and Jacklich, who have not been previously ruled out for the season, may not return this week either. He said that in Hubbard's absence, Cyncir Bowers will have to step into a larger role, and that bandit Curtis Jones Jr., who has 10 carries for 21 yards and three touchdowns in the past two games, will also see more reps.
