It's been a real tough season for Rich Rodriguez and the West Virginia Mountaineers, but there is still football to be played.

WVU football has to win out in the month of November if they want to make it back to the postseason for a third consecutive year, and is still winless in Big 12 play through five conference games. Now, the Mountaineers are set for a road showdown against the Houston Cougars this week. For those hoping to follow the WVU-Houston game on Saturday, here's all the information you’ll need.

The Basics: When And Where

The matchup with Houston is the fifth away game on the 2025 slate for the Mountaineers, and the fourth in league play – WVU is also winless away from Morgantown this season, with losses to Ohio, Kansas, BYU, and UCF on the road. The game is set for Saturday, November 1 at TDECU Stadium in Houston, with the game set to kick off at Noon EST.

TV, Streaming, and Radio

The clash between the Mountaineers and Cougars will be broadcast live on FS1 on Saturday, and can also be stream online through Fox Sports with a valid subscription. Commentary for the stream will be tackled by Connor Onion (Play-by-Play) and Mark Helfrich (Analyst).

There's a 40 percent chance of precipitation on the day, with the highest chance of rain during the game coming at 25 percent around one hour after the scheduled kickoff. Lights winds of up to seven miles per hour is also in the forecast.

WVU-TCU Series History

The West Virginia Mountaineers and Houston Cougars have only met once in the two program's histories, with the sole contest taking place in 2023 during Houston's first season in the Big 12. West Virginia is 0-1 against Houston as the Cougars, then coached by former WVU head coach Dana Holgorsen, defeated the Mountaineers 41-39 on a walk-off Hail Mary touchdown pass to win the game.
