With all the talk circulating around the WVU football program about making some late transfer additions in the running back room, the news broke on Monday that the Mountaineers will be adding a linebacker to the program who has been looking for a new home in the portal.

The news circulating around Morgantown is that Oluwaseyi Omotosho, a redshirt senior outside linebacker who played for Oregon State for the past two seasons and spent a three-year stint with Wyoming to start his career, will be headed to Morgantown for his final season of eligibility. In addition to reports that predict Omotosho will land with the Mountaineers the 6-foot-2 redshirt senior has listed WVU football as his program in his bio section on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter.

Omotosho played in 16 games for the Oregon State Beavers over the past two seasons, tallying 18 tackles and two sacks during his time in orange-and-black. Before suiting up with the Beavers, Omotosho played with the Wyoming Cowboys. In Laramie, he saw very limited action from 2020-2021 but had his breakout season in 2022 when he recorded 46 tackles and 6.5 sacks. He also was a teammate of current Mountaineer bandit Braden Siders during that time period.

WVU defensive coordinator Zac Alley has already mentioned during preseason camp that he believes his current defense is "more talented" than what he had during spring practices, as he found himself pleased with both the development of players on the roster from the spring as well the additions to the roster through the transfer portal. Now, he has yet another potential standout at linebacker who will be joining the party.
