WVU football adds commitments from a former FBS Freshman All-American and All-Conference Division 2 safety

WVU football added a pair of defensive players from the transfer portal late Saturday night, including an Honorable Mention Freshman All-American at the FBS level and a First-Team all-conference selection at the Division 2 level.

The former All-American comes in Braden Siders, who played defensive end at Wyoming over the past five seasons, using three years of eligibility during that stint. Siders recorded 91 tackles (23.5 TFL), 14 sacks, and 3 pass breakups over that time frame, and was named a Freshman All-American in 2022.



The second commitment came William Davis, a safety at Division 2 Virginia Union. Davis
appeared in all 14 games in 2024 for the Panthers as they made a deep Division 2 Playoff run, and he recorded 56 tackles (11.5 TFL) 2 interceptions, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble on the season . He was named First-Team All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) for his performance.

Over three seasons of action with Virginia Union, Davis tallied 115 tackles(25 TFL), 8 interceptions, 5 sacks, 2 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 fumble recoveries.
