For many WVU football fans and players, Saturday's win over the Colorado Buffaloes was just a regular game. But for WVU defensive lineman Devin Grant, it was a bit more personal.

Carter started his collegiate career at Colorado, and was on the roster when the Buffaloes hired Deion Sanders to take over as head coach. Do you remember Sanders infamously cutting over 50 players on his roster to bring in his own guys? Grant was one of those players left without a home. He transferred to Incarnate Word before coming to West Virginia this season.

Grant only managed one tackle in the game, but he made sure it had an impact – he racked up a game-changing highlight sack when his team needed it most. With the Mountaineers up just three points in the final quarter of play after once leading by as many as 13 points, the Buffaloes had just converted a first down. But on the ensuing play, Grant sacked five-star true freshman quarterback Julian Lewis for a ten-yard loss on first down, setting the Buffaloes behind the chains in a drive that would end a few plays later with a punt. The Mountaineers would use the ensuing drive to chew the clock down to just over four minutes remaining before scoring a touchdown to take a 10-point lead.

After the game, Grant posted a clip of the sack on his personal account on X, formerly known as Twitter, with a simple five-word message to Coach Prime: "you cut the wrong dude." And considering Grant's massive sack helped preserve WVU's postseason hopes while knocking Colorado from bowl eligibility, it's hard to argue that he's wrong.
