West Virginia seems to have some interest in a defensive stud that just hit the transfer portal, and that interest seems mutual.

Eastern Michigan linebacker James Djonkam entered the transfer portal on Saturday per On3 Sports. He has already arranged three visits, including one to Morgantown, according to reporting from 247 Sports. Djonkam finished the 2024 season with 98 tackles and 3 sacks and was named second-team All-MAC.

Djonkam also has power conference experience, having spent a two-year stint at Arizona State from 2022-2023 -- he tallied 35 tackles over those two seasons. Djonkam is also set to visit WVU rival Virginia Tech and Big 10 program Michigan State. He will have one season of eligibility remaining.
