Position battles to watch
OL - Will Kevin Brown start?
The Mountaineers added enough transfers with starting experience to put forth an entire five-man lineup on portal additions alone. They also return three linemen with starting experience last year. But reports indicate freshman Kevin Brown is making a push for a starting spot, and it will be exciting to see what happens with the four-star offensive tackle.
QB 1 - Michael Hawkins Jr. vs. Scotty Fox Jr.
The Mountaineers started four different quaterbacks last year before settling on Fox late in the season, who then excelled in the role. But previous highly-touted prospect Michael Hawkins Jr. joins after transferring from Oklahoma. The Mountaineers will need to improve at quarterback to improve as a team.
