West Virginia football is excited to still find themselves in the running for a former in-state prospect and highly touted Class of 2026 offensive line recruit.
Former Hurricane High School standout and four-star prospect Da’Ron Parks, who currently is finishing his prep career with Cardinal Mooney in Florida, recently listed his Top 12 schools and the Mountaineers made the cut, alongside a number of prestigious programs across the nation.
Parks was initially offered by the previous coaching staff under Neal Brown at WVU, and was named the MVP during one of the program’s Big Man Camps last year -- he received his offer from the current coaching staff this past January. He is currently ranked by Rivals as the 205th best overall player nationally and the 10th best at his position, and is ranked in the Top 300 nationally in 247Sports' composite rankings as well.
West Virginia will have some serious competition to land Parks -- 10-of-12 schools that made the cut for Parks are from the SEC or Big 10, including four 2024-2025 College Football Playoff competitors in Oregon, Penn State, Georgia, and defending national champions Ohio State.
Parks is not the only native West Virginian at Cardinal Mooney that the Mountaineers are pursuing -- La’Ron Dues, brother of current WVU incoming freshman Tyshawn Dues and also a former star at Hurricane, plays for the program as well and has included WVU in his Top 5. Reports indicate he hopes to make his decision by the end of June.
