Native West Virginian and WVU alum Dustin Lawless, who had spent the past two seasons as a staffer overseeing defensive quality control on former coach Neal Brown's staff, shared his goodbye to the program and the fanbase on Monday.
Lawless is a Marine Corps veteran who was born in Huntington, W.Va and played high school ball at Ironton High School in Ohio. He got into coaching at the high school level at Freedom (VA) before graduating to the collegiate ranks.
"Mountaineer Nation, sorry we couldn't get it done for you, but it was an honor to serve you and this state the last two years," said Lawless.
