The West Virginia Mountaineers are currently battling the Virginia Cavaliers in the Duke's Mayo Classic at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, and just one quarter into the game, Rich Rodriguez temporarily lost one of the key pieces to his starting offensive line.
Late in the first frame of action, starting left guard Nick Krahe went down with an apparent leg injury. He stayed down for a minute before being helped off the field by medical personnel, and was later carted to the locker room for further evaluation.

But luckily for the Mountaineers, Krahe returned to the field after just a few drives, giving the Mountaineers there starting offensive line back.
Who replaced Nick Krahe on the offensive line?
The Mountaineers turned to backup left guard Josh Aisosa to fill in the opening left by Krahe's injury, sticking srictly to the depth chart instead of moving any players around. Aisosa joined the Mountaineers last season as transfer from Oklahoma, and has seen snaps as a reserve and an additional blocker both last year and this year.

Krahe is the only starter along the offensive line who played for the Mountaineers last year, and he has extensive starting experience after earning the starting role at left tackle last season for the Mountaineers. Losing the only returning starter along the offensive line was not reassuring, and Rodriguez was surely happy to get him back quickly.
Aisosa contributed to a West Virginia touchdown while on the field, so the Mountaineers didn't lose any momentum or ground with him in the game.
