Moments ago, West Virginia football learned where they will finish their 2024 season.

The Mountaineers (6-6) will head off to postseason action at The Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Their opponent? The No. 25 Memphis Tigers (10-2) of the American Athletic Conference.

"We are excited to have two outstanding teams participate in the 2024 Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl, the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Memphis Tigers," Frisco Bowl Executive Director Sean Johnson said. "We look forward to hosting this great matchup and welcoming the teams and their passionate fan bases to Frisco, Texas, for an exciting week of bowl events and a fantastic game at Toyota Stadium."

The Mountaineers will head into the matchup with an interim coach after the firing of former coach Neal Brown on Sunday. The interim is set to be offensive coordinator and running backs coach Chad Scott.

The Tigers enter following an upset win over Tulane last weekend, with their only two losses this season coming to navy and UTSA -- they also have a win over a Power 4 opponent in Florida State.

It will be the 11th consecutive bowl appearance for Memphis. Their senior quarterback Seth Henigan, is the AAC's all-time leading passer with 13,972 yards, the winningest quarterback in the program's history, and 1-of-3 active FBS quarterbacks who have passed for over 100 touchdowns in their careers.
