This weekend, West Virginia football will begin welcoming groups of high school athletes to campus for the next month they host their slate of 2025 Summer Camps.
These camps, though serving as strictly developmental for certain athletes, also offer an opportunity for potential recruits with offers to show off their skills to the WVU coaching staff and for those coaches to also discover under-the-radar recruits that might warrant an offer. A number of high school players have already announced their intent to attend a camp over the summer in Morgantown.
The opportunity for coaches and staffers to interact with players during drills and have them perform against level competition can help determine if a player might be right for the program in terms of both skillset as well as how they might fit into the culture. And feedback offered to potential recruits can help mold them into better players before they eventually arrive on campus.
West Virginia will play host to right such camps this summer -- one being marketed for June 9th as a youth camp, but the other seven aimed towards players who could potentially wind up playing collegiate football in the near future.
The Mountaineers will kick things off on Sunday, June 1st, with an Elite One-Day Camp. It will be the first of four such camps over the month, with others scheduled for June 6th, June 18th, and June 20th. There are two 7-on-7 and Big Man Camps scheduled for the month on June 11th and June 13th, as well as a specialist camp on June 18th.
