West Virginia football added yet another SEC offensive lineman in the transfer portal on Wednesday. The newest addition makes the third SEC offensive lineman and fourth overall offensive lineman to be added to the team in the spring transfer portal window, and the fifth overall SEC offensive lineman to transfer into the program since new head coach Rich Rodriguez was hired in December.
The Mountaineers added Mississippi State lineman Carson Lee on Wednesday, with the news first reported by The Voice of Morgantown and later confirmed by Chris Hummer at 247Sports via Lee’s agent.

Lee, who played for Eastern Michigan in 2024, has made starts the last 2 years at C, RG and LG. He's a top 10 available player in the @247Sports rankingshttps://t.co/e3YcTJHaef pic.twitter.com/4rxnGakitY
Lee technically joins the program from Mississippi State, but Lee never saw the field for the Bulldogs -- he joined their roster last winter as a transfer and decided the program wasn't the right fit following spring practices.
Lee began his career at fellow Big 12 rival Colorado, but eventually transferred to Eastern Michigan after his freshman season. For the Eagles, he was a versatile and consistent piece of the offensive line rotation, making 25 appearances and 17 starts during his stint in Ypsilanti.
Lee made starts at center, left guard, and right guard, demonstrating his ability to play different positions in the trenches with ease. He's among the Top 10 remaining portal players according the 247Sports. The Mountaineers beat out UCLA in the recruiting process to snag the veteran offensive lineman.
Lee will join a crowded offensive line unit for West Virginia -- there are now 20 lineman on the roster including incoming freshmen and transfers, and five of those players will have just one season of eligibility remaining. With more transfer linemen still on the board for potential additions, it's getting hard to tell what the starting five will look like come Week 1 this fall. It will certainly be a room worth watching.
