An unexpected piece of West Virginia's defense will be back in Morgantown in 2025.

WVU defensive back Kekoura Tarnue announced on Tuesday he will be coming back to WVU for his final season of eligibility. Tarnue had originally exhausted his eligibility in 2024 but played a portion of his collegiate career at the JUCO level -- the NCAA recently granted all athletes who played at that level an additional year of eligibility due to a court ruling.

Tarnue had 35 tackles, 1 pass deflection, and 1 forced fumble for the Mountaineers in 2024, seeing his playing time increase later in the season as he began to standout as a top defensive back in a struggling secondary. However, he also brings experience playing under both Rich Rodriguez and Zac Alley -- he spent the 2023 season at Jacksonville State playing under both in the same defense Alley will bring to Morgantown.
