Another week of the college football season in here, which means it's time for the newsest edition of the Neal Brown Hot Seat Rating.

Now, the Hot Seat Rating may seem unpredictable, but let's look to the future for a second. With each win, it seems to drop a point. Each loss appears to increase a point or two, depending on the root cause of the loss itself. What would the meter's fate hold if Neal Brown and WVU were to win out?

I do not see the meter dipping below a 5 out of 10, even if WVU happens to run the table (which is very likely, I might add). The fanbase wants a change regardless of the outcome. They want a championship contender, not a "decent" bowl game with an 8-4 record. This is just the reality of the matter.

Last week, our rating sat at a bit more scorching 8 out of 10. After a second consecutive win and a defense that looked improved post-Jordan Lesley, the meter has decreased this week to a 7 out of 10 heading into the Baylor game. Both teams in this game enter with a record of 5-4 and are hungry for a win, with every game being a must-win, as mentioned in previous articles. If WVU were to lose to Baylor, we may see the meter increase to a 9 out of 10 and stay put for a few weeks.

Top media members and radio talent alike can easily persuade the Morgantown fan base. Some diehards can see right through the storm that is the Neal Brown era, and they want change regardless, not being happy until one is made. To spend money on billboards to attempt to force the issue seems a bit abrasive, but honestly, It's not the product on the field's fault who are putting their bodies on the line week after week.

They have to be put in the position to win football games, and thus far, the play-calling and clock management have been mediocre at best. With rumblings of Jimbo Fisher coming out of retirement and other pipedreams in place, it seems the fanbase is trying to fit a square peg into a round hole in an attempt to make Morgantown sexy again to attract a big name.
