It was big news that broke on Friday -- per Mike Asti of WV Sports Now, former West Virginia football running back Noel Devine will be joining Rich Rodriguez's staff at WVU as an offensive analyst. It will be his first collegiate coaching experience.
Devine spent four seasons with the Mountaineers from 2007-2010 and rushed for 4,317 yards and 29 touchdowns while adding 712 receiving yards and 2 receiving touchdowns. Devine is third all-time within the program in career rushing yards.
Devine was originally recruited by Rodriguez and played collegiately for both Rodriguez and former head coach Bill Stewart. Devine's son Andre played for Rodriguez last season at Jacksonville State after his offer to WVU was pulled when another recruit filled the roster spot first.
Devine himself quickly confirmed the rumors on social media and showed his excitement at being able to return to Morgantown and the program at WVU. But he is not the only one who is excited.
People all across the internet -- from WVU fans and media members to numerous college football analysts feeling nostalgic about the mid-2000s -- took to social media to share their enthusiasm regarding the return of Devine to college football as a coach. Check out some of the reactions below.
