West Virginia football fans learned the start times and TV broadcast partners for a number of games on the 2025 schedule on Thursday.
Information for the first three games -- a quick road trip across Route 50 to face Ohio and a pair of home contests that include FCS opponent Robert Morris and Backyard Brawl rival Pitt -- was released alongside information on a Friday night trip to BYU in early October.
Rich Rodriguez's second tenure at West Virginia will kick off on August 30th as the Mountaineers host Robert Morris at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown. The game is now officially scheduled for a kickoff time of 2 PM EST, and those who cannot attend in person will be able to find the matchup on ESPN+.
The Mountaineers' first road trip of the season will be a short ride down I-79 and across US 50 to Athens, Ohio, where they'll face the Ohio Bobcats of the MAC on September 6th. The game is now set to kickoff at 4 PM EST, with the TV broadcast available on ESPNU for those unable to attend.
On September 13th, Pitt and WVU will meet for the 108th Backyard Brawl -- it's the first meeting with the Panthers under Rich Rodriguez's second tenure, after Rodriguez's final game during his first stint in Morgantown came in an infamous 13-9 loss that cost the program an opportunity at the BCS National Championship Game. It is also the last scheduled meeting between the two programs until 2029.
This year's Brawl will take place at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown and will be broadcast on ESPN. The matchup is set to kickoff at 3:30 PM EST.
On Friday, October 3rd, the Mountaineers travel to Provo, Utah, for a Big 12 conference battle with BYU. That contest is also set to be broadcast on ESPN, and the kickoff is scheduled for 10:30 PM EST. Start times and TV information for the other eight conference games will be released during the season on either 12-day or six-day window prior to the game's kickoff date.
