Rich Rodriguez has long been hailed as an offensive genius, and to this day, he keeps rolling out new innovative offensive formations as his career continues on. And last year, he pulled out a particular doozy of a formation to attempt combat the team's less-than-stellar offensive line play and provide much-need bost in short-yardage situations.

When the Mountaineers needed just a few inches last year against the Pitt Panthers in the Backyard Brawl, Rodriguez debuted a unique heavy package that he also dubbed the "PHAT" package. And now that EA Sports has released the new College Football 27 video game, WVU football fans were excited to see the formation make it into West Virginia's in-game playbook.

But it turns out West Virginia fans weren't the only ones who were excited to see Rodriguez's heavy package make an appearance in the game. Now, college football fans who play thegame hve discovered the formation and begun to experiment with it – and many of them are falling in love with the possibilities.

There are different personnel options, so you can roll it out with three tight ends and a fullback if you want to have better pass-catching options involved in the lone passing play in the formation, or if you want to call some hot routes and design your own passing play. But you can also roll out nine offensive linemen if you're so inclined, creating a mass of humanity to pave the way – sort of like how Rodriguez used it against Pitt.

And it turns out that multiple users have found it to be quite the effective formation to break out, with one user calling it the "best power run scheme" in the game and labeling the runs as "a nightmare to defend." Another gamer called it "the coolest new formation" to make it into the game. One person suggested your opponents might verbally attack you for putting the formation into action.

Check out the full comments (and some accompanying video clips) on West Virginia's offense in the game below, and make sure to break out the PHAT package yourself when testing the new game this summer!
