The West Virginia Mountaineersgot a win over the Virginia Cavaliersthis past weekend, but during the game, they saw a few players leave the field with injuries. Now, the Mountaineers have an update on some of those players.
Nick Krahe, Jaden Bray, Cam Ball, and Nate Gabriel all got a little banged up at various points on Saturday, though none of the injuries seemed super serious at the time. Rich Rodriguezhas now delivered updateson all of those players.
West Virginia gets lucky with injuries ahead of Week 4 game with Oklahoma State
"Yeah, I think you know, Nick Krahe be a little limited in practice this week, but he should be okay to go," Rodriguez said. "Cam Ball got knocked out, he should, we think he'll be able to play Saturday. Trying to think who else got hurt at one point. [Jaden] Bray's the same too. Got a little bit of a a hip bruise. He'll be a little limited today, but he should be good to go by tomorrow. Nate [Gabriel] is fine, too."
Prince Strachan, who was presumed to be a starting wideout ahead of the season but has been recovering from a collarbone injury during spring practices, made his first appearance for the Mountaineers against Virginia, but saw limited action. Rodriguez expects him to work his way into the lineup a bit more against Oklahoma State.
"I think Prince is going to – you know last week, it was kind of the first week back fully and he played a little bit I think but he'll have a full week to practice this week and expect him to be in there a little bit more," Rodriguez said.
"And he's he's a big physical guy and a good football player so I think that you know that was kind of the first game for him and I think he'll keep he'll keep getting better and and he'll he'll his role is going to increase of course I think starting this weekend."
Rodriguez also revealed that Martavious Boswell was limited at running back this past week and Chris Talley was also still dealing with a tweaked hamstring – but both should be back this week, adding some depth to the running back room behind Cam Cook and Amari Latimer.
