Despite last week's court ruling granting four WVU football players eligibility for the 2025 season, head coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed on Tuesday that one of those athletes still is not practicing and that certain parts of his eligibility are still unclear.

The news was dropped during last week's court hearing on the subject of eligibility for a group of Mountaineers who transferred into the program that one athlete -- edge rusher Jimmori Robinson -- is apparently academically ineligible to play this season outside of any ruling regarding his five-season eligibility clock.

Rodriguez was asked about the situation on Tuesday during his weekly press conference and let it be known that the team is "still waiting" on Robinson -- meaning he's still not practicing with the Mountaineers and his eligibility is still up in the air.

Rodriguez also said that the school is working with both compliance officers and the Big 12 Conference to determine Robinson's ability to take the field this season. This echoes athletic director Wren Baker's statement on the matter during a press conference last Friday, where he wanted to work with the Big 12 to make sure the school proceeds in a way that "doesn't put the institution at risk."

Given the five-day acclimation period mandated by the NCAA and the news that Robinson is still not taking the field for practice, this means it is confirmed that the Mountaineers will not have Robinson available for their season opener this Saturday when they host FCS opponent Robert Morris. If he manages to be cleared to play before the beginning of next week, there is a possibility that he might be able to debut during the team's Week 2 road trip to Ohio.
