WVU runner Sarah Tait took the track Saturday at the UK Athletics Championship in an attempt to mark herself as one of the top national athletes in her discipline and earn a spot at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Tait came just under five seconds away from her goal to advance to Paris, crossing the finish line in fourth-place with a mark of 9 minutes, and 49.88 seconds. The finish is a personal best for Tait, who has the second-fastest time in WVU program history in the event. But sadly, only the top three finishers advanced to the UK Olympic Team.

It was a strong finish to Tait's sole season with WVU, where she came on strong late in the season to make noise at the conference meet before also missing out on an NCAA Championship appearance by one spot.
