As they gear up for the 2024 edition of The Basketball Tournament, the WVU alumni squad Best Virginia has added another former Mountaineer to the roster.

Taz Sherman, who spent a three-year stint in Morgantown from 2019-2022, was announced as a roster member on Friday. Sherman averaged 17.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game as a senior for the Mountaineers and was Second Team All-Big 12 to cap his collegiate career.

Sherman has since played professional ball overseas in Finland, Greece, and Hungary, with his most recent stint coming this past year with Greek organization Lavrio B.C.

Former WVU player and Best Virginia GM seemed eager to have Sherman join the unit for this upcoming tournament.

"Taz is a 3 level scorer, and has the true Mountaineer mentality," Harler said. "We wanted guys this year who bring a level of toughness and Taz is the perfect piece to the puzzle for that."
