West Virginia track and field redshirt senior Sarah Tait will look to follow up a personal best performance by earning an Olympic bid for the United Kingdom as she competes in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the British UK Athletics Championships this week.

Tait recently ran the best mark of her career in the event, crossing the line at the Harry Jerome Track Classic this month with a time of 9 minutes, 55.34 seconds -- in the process, she became the second-fastest Mountaineer in program history in the event.

Tait was the 2021 Senior Scottish National Champion in the steeplechase and also competed in the event at the U23 European Championships in 2023 -- she will make her first Olympic appearance is she can advance at the UK Championships. Tait is set to compete in the steeplechase finals on June 29th at 2 p.m. ET.
