West Virginia Starts Unranked in AP Top 25 Poll, Receives Votes

The first Associated Press Top 25 Poll was released Monday, and the West Virginia Mountaineers will begin the season unranked for the sixth straight season. However, the Mountaineers received 17 votes and sits on the outside looking in at number 33 in the nation.
West Virginia will kick off the season hosting Penn State, the number eight team in the nation. If the Mountaineers can come out on top there is a highly likely chance that they will force their way into the top 25. WVU will also be playing against four of the five Big 12 Schools that were ranked in the preseason poll, hosting Kansas and Kansas State and visiting Arizona and Oklahoma State. Utah begins as the highest ranked member in the Big 12, coming in at number 12 in the nation. The full AP Preseason Top 25 is listed below.
