With just over five minutes to play in the West Virginia-Kansas football game in Morgantown on Saturday, Mountaineer fans were deflated. Their team trailed 28-17 and appeared on the brink of opening Big 12 play with a loss and moving to 1-3 on the year.

However, the Mountaineers weren't dead yet. The team treated the Jayhawks to a repeat of what happened to them last weekend against rival Pitt, rallying from a late-game deficit to score the go-ahead touchdown in the waning moments of play.

Garrett Greene connected with Rodney Gallagher III on a touchdown pass with under 30 seconds to play which would ultimately earn WVU a 32-28 win as they move to 2-2 and head into their bye week with an in-conference win.

"It's huge, and our backs were against the wall," WVU head coach Neal Brown said after the game.

Garrett Greene tossed two interceptions and went 15-of-30 passing, but also passed for 295 yards and two touchdowns -- including the winning one -- and ran for 87 yards and a third score in a mixed bag performance. Brown credited Greene for the win.

"We got Garrett Greene and they don't," quipped Brown when asked about the key to victory.
