No. 6 West Virginia men's soccer team is gearing up for a trip north to do battle with Bucknell in non-conference action on Tuesday.
The Mountaineers have had an impressive start to the season, boasting a record of 5-0-3. Most recently, they battled Kentucky to a 0-0 draw in their third tie of the season. In Sun Belt play, WVU holds a 1-0-1 record, good for second place overall in the league standings.
On the other side, Bucknell enters the match with a record of 4-3-1, entering off the momentum of a narrow 1-0 win against American this past weekend. The Bison have seen contributions from seven different players in the scoring department, while goalkeeper Freddie Lapworth has earned 29 saves this season and has also tallied four shutout performances.
Leading the charge for WVU offensively this fall has been graduate student Sergio Ors Navarro, who ranks fourth nationally with eight goals to his name. In goal, redshirt senior Marc Bonnaire has 14 saves for the Mountaineers. He has notched five shutout performances this season, including back-to-back efforts
