In a preseason game against the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Mountaineers were bested by one of the best teams in the country.
Alabama outscored West Virginia but just 10 points but the Tide lays claim to the single game between the programs.

While the Mountaineers may be able to handle lions, they can't seem to tame the Tigers.
LSU holds a two-game undefeated record over West Virginia's head. The Tigers most recently defeated WVU 47-21 in 2011 when Geno Smith was leading the Mountaineer's charge.

Last but not least, the Texas A&M Aggies are the 18th FBS opponent that West Virginia has yet to defeat.
In 2014, the Aggies beat the Mountaineers 45-37 in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl game.
