It has been nearly 120 years since the Mountaineers and Wolverines played each other. In 1904, West Virginia and Michigan played in Ann Arbor.
The Wolverines won 130-0 in an absolute demolition of a matchup.
More likely than not, West Virginia would once again fall to Michigan if the two teams met sometime soon but maybe one day the Mountaineers will be able to get even.
The Spartans have a chokehold on the Mountaineers. West Virginia currently sits with four losses to Michigan State in an uphill battle to take down the Big Ten team.
The most recent matchup was in 1945 when the Spartans won 17-0.
In the 2021 Guaranteed Bowl, the Minnesota Golden Gophers tripled the WVU Mountaineers' score.
West Virginia put up an abysmal 6 points, all in the 2nd quarter, and were bested in the only matchup between the two teams.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers won the 1994 national championship but they started their season against the WVU Mountaineers.
West Virginia couldn't score a single point against the future title winners and lost 31-0 in the only game the teams have played against each other.
Wisconsin, just like Michigan State, has defeated the Mountaineers in each of the four matchups between the two programs.
Through the four matchups, the Badgers have outscored the Mountaineers 128-53. The largest deficit that WVU suffered was a 32-point defeat in 1957.
