After identifying some keys for the Mountaineers in their upcoming matchup with Albany, it's time to identify some key players to watch for on offense for the Great Danes.

Albany is coming off of a win in their season opener over Long Island University (LIU) by a score of 27-21. Albany finished with a record of 11-4 in 2023 with a blowout loss to the South Dakota State Jackrabbits in the FCS Semifinals.

1. Griffin Woodell - Running Back, #2

Sophomore running back, Griffin Woodell enters 2024 looking to build off of an impressive freshman campaign for Albany.

2023 Regular Season

175 rushes, 899 yards, 5.1 yards per rush, 7 rushing touchdowns

30 receptions, 225 yards, 4 receiving touchdowns

Whether at the FBS or FCS level, a freshman putting up 899 rushing yards is impressive. Woodell had a solid outing in week 1 in the win against LIU with 85 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

2. Myles Burkett - Quarterback, #5

Burkett, a Wisconsin transfer made his Albany debut last Saturday against LIU passing for 175 yards and 1 touchdown. Burkett completed just 12 of his 26 pass attempts.

3. Seven McGee - Wide Receiver, #7

Senior wideout, Seven McGee is a 2-time transfer who began his career at Oregon before transferring to Jackson Statem where he compiled just 136 yards in 2023. However, in 2024 he is already turning heads after his Albany debut in which he put up 119 yards and 1 touchdown on 5 receptions. Look for McGee to once again be the feature target for QB Myles Burkett in Morgantown on Saturday night.
