Another former Drake assistant coach will be joining Darian DeVries at West Virginia.

According to Field of 68's Jeff Goodman, Tom Ostrom will be joining DeVries' staff in Morgantown after spending the past two seasons at Drake. He most recently had taken a job serving under former James Madison coach Mark Byington at his new home with Vanderbilt, joining that staff in April. Now it seems Ostrom will abandon the Commodores before ever helping coach a game and head to the Big 12.

Ostrom served as an associate head coach at Indiana before his tenure at Drake, helping build a pair of Top 15 recruiting classes. He has also served as an assistant for Dayton and Florida, including helping Dayton to an Elite Eight appearance.

“Tom has been successful at many different schools and leagues across the country,” said Byington when Ostrom was hired at Vanderbilt. “His team at Drake had a great year, and he has recruited and coached some of the best players in the nation at Indiana, Dayton and Florida.”
