The full bracket for the 2024 edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT) -- which will once again feature the WVU alumni squad known as Best Virginia -- was released on Wednesday.
Best Virginia, who is 7-4 overall in TBT play, already knew they would be travelling up I-79 to Pittsburgh for their regional, which will be hosted by Backyard Brawl rival Pitt's alumni team, known as the Zoo Crew. They now know they will square off in Round One against the Brotherly Love Pro-Am Foundation on July 20th at 3 p.m. from the Petersen Events Center.
Brotherly Love's team represents their Philadelphia pro-am league which, according to their bio, "works to create equity, opportunity and lasting camaraderie by cultivating a network of professional athletes, centering both fitness and wellness to improve the physical, financial and mental health of communities in Philadelphia." They are 4-2 overall in TBT play.
A potential Backyard Brawl alumni game could be in the works in the second round, as the Brotherly Love/Best Virginia winner will advance to face the winner of a first-round matchup between The Zoo Crew and Million $ Worth of Game, a club representing basketball from the city of Philadelphia. Both teams are 0-1 in their only TBT appearances. The second-round matchup between the winners will take place at 8 p.m. on July 22nd at Petersen Events Center.
