With the hiring of Darian DeVries from Drake and the transfer portal already being open, some players might choose to follow their coach to his new school.

Colby Garland

Colby Garland is another freshman who I believe would follow the coach who recruited him. Garland wasn't a starter for DeVries except for two games his freshman season, but he came off the bench and played an average of 19.7 minutes a game.

Garland's numbers don't jump off the stats sheet averaging just 5.7 points per game, 2.2 assists per game, and 2.9 rebounds per game. What does jump out is the fact that he shoots 50.4% from the field and is an 82% free throw shooter.

Garland is not going to be a big-time scorer if he chooses to make the move to West Virginia, but he is a good game facilitator and can make plays for other guys. his assists will go up as he plays more, remember he is just a freshman.
