2. Steve Slaton's Single Season Rushing Yards

In 2006, Steve Slaton accounted for 1,744 rushing yards to set this mark. Will we ever see the likes of another Steve Slaton in Morgantown again? Or will today's 'two-headed monster' approach to the running back room hinder the opportunity for us to see a season such as this again?

These days, teams like the 2-3 back system, and very seldom rely on a feature back to carry the load with a ton of carries. In one aspect, it allowed teams to target defenses with each back's strengths and keep opponents on their toes. It's also another sign of the changing times, due to the heavy emphasis (for good reason) on the violence of the sport and the potential for athletes to develop CTE.
