It was a bit of a revenge game for No. 20 West Virginia women's basketball as they hosted Colorado at the WVU Coliseum on Wednesday evening.

The Mountaineers dropped their Big 12 opener in their first clash with the Buffaloes this season in Boulder, losing by just two possessions after giving up an 11-point lead to a Colorado rally in the fourth quarter.

So it was only fitting that the Mountaineers dominated the final period of play Wednesday, outscoring Colorado 24-6 in the final 10 minutes to get even with the Buffaloes in a dominant 73-46 win.

The Mountaineers typical weakness -- inconsistency -- made an appearance on Wednesday as Colorado led 22-15 after one period and went on separate 8-0 and 6-0 runs to keep the game tight through three quarters. But in the end, the Mountaineers bursts of offensive scoring were quite efficient -- they would outscore Colorado 16-2 in the second quarter in addition to the fourth quarter run, and also had a 15-0 run during the third period of play which was bookended by Colorado rallies.

The Mountaineers (14-3, 4-2) were paced by strong 19-point scoring performances by senior guards Sydney Shaw and J.J. Quinerly -- Kyah Watson and Kylee Blacksten also added double-digit scoring efforts with 10 point apiece. Colorado (12-5, 3-3) was led by Frida Formann, who was the team's only double-digit scorer with 11 points.
