Neal Brown describes loss to Texas Tech as "ass-whooping"
By Joseph Smith
On Saturday, West Virginia football concluded the regular season with one of the worst losses of the Head Coach Neal Brown's tenure.
The Mountaineers fell 52-15 in a game where they were outgained offensively by well over 100 yards and lost three turnovers -- it was the second 25+ point loss this season for WVU, and the fourth 37+ point loss of Brown's tenure.
In the postgame press conference, Brown wasted no time and pulled no punches in his description of the loss.
"I don't know if we win, but it's definitely is not the ass-whooping it ended up being," Brown said about the final result when discussing the effect of an early dropped pass by Hudson Clement on 4th down.
With rumors swirling all week about whether or not Brown will be back as the coach if the Mountaineers lost to Texas Tech -- and that perhaps he was gone regardless -- the performance against the Red Raiders clearly was deflating for Brown.
"It wasn't good enough, and I'm not hiding from that," Brown said.
