With fall camp just having opened for WVU football and the first game of the 2025 season still 30 days away, it's probably a bit early to be thinking about the all-star game and NFL Draft process. But the East-West Shrine Bowl recently announced a list of players they'll have their eye on this season, and numerous Mountaineers found themselves on the list.
Eight WVU players have been included on the East-West Shrine Bowl 1000, which the event releases during the preseason to put a spotlight on potential athletes that are draft-eligible and have caught the eye of the scouts organizing the Shrine Bowl and identifying early NFL Draft prospects.
Making the list for the Mountaineers were redshirt senior offensive center/guard Carson Lee, redshirt senior offensive guard Walter Young Bear, redshirt senior edge rusher Jimmori Robinson (who is still awaiting an eligibility waiver for the upcoming season), redshirt senior linebacker Chase Wilson, senior cornerback Michael Coats Jr., senior safety Fred Perry, junior running back Jahiem White, and redshirt sophomore Cam vaugh.
The Shrine Bowl is one of the premier all-star games across the sport of college football, and allows potential NFL prospects the opportunity to play under NFL staff in an NFL-style contest. The 2026 Shrine Bowl is scheduled to be played on January 27, 2026, at The Star in Frisco, Texas. WVU fans are certainly excited to watch what incoming head coach Rich Rodriguez can do with the program, and now they also have some names to watch during the season that could take the next step in their football careers.
