Anyone who has watched a football team led by current West Virginia Head Coach Rich Rodriguez knows that there is a certain type of athlete that thrives at quarterback inside of his offensive system.
Now, one of those types of athletes is set for a visit with WVU football, and he has made the date official.
Jett Goldsberry is ranked a three-star recruit in the 247Sports Composite, but he has lots of interest from schools across the Power 4 level. In total, Goldsberry has earned 23 scholarship offers from collegiate programs -- among those teams competing to land the Lincoln City, Indiana native are UNC, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Purdue, Wisconsin, Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, and Vanderbilt. On Wednesday night, Goldsberry announced he'd be making a visit to WVU on June 18th-June 19th.
While Goldsberry is listed as an athlete, he has played a significant amount of reps at quarterback, and it's easy to see him morphing into a signal caller inside of a Rich Rodriguez offense.
Goldsberry brings the exact type of dual-threat potential Rodriguez looks for in a quarterback to the table -- the Heritage Hills quarterback went 99-of-165 passing and raced up 1,807 yards and 26 touchdowns while tossing just four interceptions in 2024. He also added 1,676 yards and 28 touchdowns on the ground while also playing defense and punting full-time for his team. Goldsberry has clocked an impressive 4.47 40-yard dash time, and a 37-inch vertical jump.
Goldberry is also a three-sport athlete, and his achievements in those other sports show just how massive of an acquisition he could be on the football field. In wrestling, he is a two-time Indiana state championship qualifier -- meanwhile, in track and field, he has run a 10.75 second 100 meter dash, a 21.75 second 200 meter dash, a 48.65 second 400 meter dash, and jumped 22-0 in the long jump.
