JJ Wetherholt has impressed every step of the way along his professional baseball journey, so it should be no surprise at he's continuing to play a crucial role for the St. Louis Cardinals as his debut season in the MLB stretches on.
The former WVU baseball star and seventh overall selection in the 2024 MLB Draft earned a spot in the majors this year after a blazing hot season at the Double-A and Triple-A level in 2025. In his very first game with St. Louis this spring, he showed he belonged – smashing a solo home run for his first-ever MLB hit. And on Tuesday night, he proved once again why he's getting this opportunity.
