Perhaps the second-year NFL quarterback should have been a Mountaineer in college?

The New York Giants are getting their preseason activities underway as the 2026 NFL season rapidly approaches, and they're visiting West Virginia to kick things off. The Giants decided to bring their camp to the heart of the Appalachian Mountains this season, with the activities taking place at the Greenbrier Resort in White Sulpher Springs.

It's an opportunity for the players to get away from the hustle and bustle of the New York City metro area and avoid the distractions as they look to get ready for the upcoming year – and at least one player is quite enjoying the opportunity.

Jaxson Dart offers high praise for West Virginia

The Giants are led by Jaxson Dart, who is entering his second season in the NFL. Dart is originally from Utah, and played collegiately at USC and Ole Miss – so he's gotten to experience many diverse parts of the country. And it appears that so far, West Virginia might be among his favorites.

"This is like old school, this is like what you see in the movies," Dart said. "I was stoked to come out here with the team and I think that us just being able to come here for extended days and just being with one another, growing our personal relationships and also having great communication from a football side. There's not a ton of things to do around here but it forces us to be together. I love the outdoors, so I feel right at home.
