The on-field action is getting underway at the 2026 NFL Combine this week, as 319 collegiate players get the opportunity to prove to scouts and executives why they deserve to hear their names called during the NFL Draft later this spring.

Unfortunately, that doesn't give WVU fans a ton to focus on this week, as no Mountaineers have been invited to the event. That might not come as a surprise, considering the less than satisfactory finish to the season the Mountaineers had in 2025.

However, West Virginia has reloaded in the transfer portal once again, and there are a few players who can potentially end the program's NFL Combine drought next spring. Let's take a look at three of these players.

Which incoming WVU football transfers could have NFL potential?

Cam Cook, RB

Cam Cook led the FBS with 1,659 rushing yards last year at Jacksonville State, and also added 16 rushing touchdowns. Cook is currently estimate as a potential Day 3 pick in the 2027 NFL Draft, but he wasn't on many people's radars before his breakout season last year – a big performance for the West Virginia Mountaineers could boost him further and earn him a Combine invite next year.

Wes King, OL

Wes King sneakily slides onto this list. A lot of attention has been directed to the pair of all-Conference USA linemen who played for Rick Trickett and Rich Rodriguez, and to former Kansas State starter Devin Vass.

But King is a three-year FBS starter with 1,750 career snaps and 33 career starts to his name, and has never allowed a sack at the collegiate level. He has been projected as high as a third-round draft pick in 2027 by some, and maintaining that buzz this year will likely land him a Combine invite.

Kamari Wilson, S

Wilson was a Top 100 ranked prospect in the Class of 2022 and was described by national recruiting analysts as a player with "NFL upside." He landed at Florida and also spent time at Arizona State before a breakout season at Memphis last year saw him record 84 tackles, four passes defended, and two interceptions.

Wilson has already been projected as a potential seventh-round pick if he had left school this past year, and now is using his final year of eligibility to further build his draft stock. A big season could land him at the Combine next spring.
