The West Virginia Mountaineers had a significant talent issue with their roster last season, and it's a problem that Rich Rodriguez is working hard to resolve. Headdressed it in a big waywith his recruiting class this past offseason, signing an over-sized freshmen class with several four-star prospects among the group.
With fall camp underway, we've already heard that several of these incoming freshmen arealready making an impactand are likely to see action this fall. And for two names among that list, offensive tackle Kevin Brown and defensive back Matt Sieg, the expectations are continuing to rise as the national college football scene is turning their eyes toward them.

You don't always find freshmen that are able to make an immediate impact, and for Brown along the offensive line, it might be even more difficult – Rodriguez has specifically highlighted it as one of the toughest positions to play as a freshman. But you don't earn a spot on these type of lists unless you've got some real talent, and Rodriguez has said both will be of the field this fall.
"You know, Matt Sieg is playing well, he's in the rotation," Rodriguez said recently. "Kevin Brown, we thought play as a freshman. He'll play as a freshman."
With the season opener rapidly approaching, the hype around Brown and Sieg, the two top signees in the team's 2026 recruiting class, only continues to grow. It will be exciting to see what role they occupy when the Mountaineers face off with Coastal Carolina on September 5.
