It's likely West Virginia men's basketball’s non-conference slate more than lived up to the team and fanbase’s expectations.
Following a historically bad 2023-2024 season that ended with a new head coach in Darian DeVries and the task of rebuilding the roster from scratch, the Mountaineers weren’t really at the tip of anyone’s tongue when mentioning teams that should have a strong season this year.
But WVU pulled off one of the bigger upsets of the season so far over then No. 3 Gonzaga -- now ranked No. 19 -- in the Bahamas, have a pair of wins over power conference programs in Georgetown and Arizona, and have matched the win total (9) from their previous season
Now, the Mountaineers (9-2) are set to open conference play against No. 7 Kansas (9-2) in one of the toughest environments in college basketball as we prepare to wave goodbye to the 2024 calendar year.
For those trying to keep a close eye on the action, we have all the information you need to keep up with when, where, and how to follow WVU men's basketball as they face Kansas.
