WVU football has officially announced game promotions for their home contests during the upcoming 2025 football season.
The Mountaineers will kick their season off on August 30 against FCS opponent Robert Morris, which will serve as the team's Gold Rush game -- all fans in attendance will be encouraged to wear gold. The Mountaineers will also do their annual Family Day during this contest, offering special ticket packages and concession vouchers for family groups.
WVU will return to Milan Puskar Stadium on September 13 for the Backyard Brawl with archrival Pitt. This game will serve as a Stripe the Stadium game for the Mountaineers -- fans in attendance sitting in even-numbered sections, Touchdown Terrace, and the upper-level student sections are encouraged to wear gold to the game. Meanwhile, fans sitting in odd-numbered sections and lower-level student sections are encouraged to wear blue to the game. A "Stripe the Stadium map" is available here.
Hall of Fame Weekend will take place on September 27 as the Mountaineers return home to host Utah, with a ceremony recognizing the 2025 inductees during the contest. The Mountaineers will then be on the road for a month, but will be back at Milan Puskar Stadium for Homecoming on October 25 against TCU.
WVU will also host a Military Appreciation Day as they welcome Colorado to town on November 8, and Senior Day celebrations will cap the home slate as the Mountaineers welcome Texas Tech on November 29.
The Mountaineers also plan on hosting Coal Rush and True Blue theme nights, as well as debuting their 1965 throwback jerseys -- these dates are still to be determined by WVU and will be announced at a later date.
