A former WVU wideout has traversed the country from coast-to-coast in search of college football success – now, he has found his home for his final season of eligibility.

Cortez Braham Jr. played for the Mountaineers from 2022-2023, hauling in 17 receptions for 164 yards during his time suiting up for West Virginia. He transferred out of the program following the 2023 season, and he ended up with Nevada, where he had a breakout season for the Wolf Pack. Braham caught 56 receptions for 724 yards and four touchdowns in 2024 with Nevada and was named an All-Mountain West Conference Honorable Mention selection for his efforts. Now, Braham will be headed to the Memphis Tigers to finish his collegiate career, as announced on Thursday by On3's Pete Nakos.

Braham initially thought that would be the end of his career, but he recently received a waiver allowing him to exercise an option for one final season of college football based upon the extra year of eligibility awarded to players who spent time at the JUCO level after Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia filed a lawsuit following last season. This is also notable for a subset a WVU players waiting on eligibility waivers for the 2025 season.

WVU fans will be hoping that the four Mountaineers waiting to suit up for Rich Rodriguez this season are granted a similar waiver, and will also have one more opportunity to support a former Mountaineer at the collegiate level as Braham prepares for the 2025 season with Memphis.
