Former West Virginia cornerback and current Pittsburgh Steeler Beanie Bishop Jr. has put the NFL on notice within the past two weeks.

At first it was it performance in primetime against the New York Jets, where he recorded two interceptions off NFL legend Aaron Rodgers -- he remarked after the game he wanted Rodgers to sign the Sunday Night Football game ball that was awarded to him after the contest.

This past Monday, he showed again he is a force to be reckoned with, as he tallied his third interception of the season against the New York Giants to help seal the game late. He once again added to his personal lore after the game as well, telling reporters that he 'called game' earlier on the drive, so to speak.

"I told [linebacker] Alex Highsmith I was going to end the game that drive," Bishop said. "That's something that I pride myself on, just trying out there to get a stop to finish the game."

Bishop transformed from a role player to an All-American at West Virginia, and is now transforming from undrafted free agent to standout rookie with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is now tied for fifth in the NFL for total interceptions on the season with 3 total, and is tied for 35th in the league with 5 pass deflections on the season.

The Steelers might not have as much of a need for Bishop as slot cornerback Cam Sutton returned to the roster following a suspension this week, but Bishop will have to hope he's done enough to earn himself a consistent spot in the defensive rotation for the 6-2 Steelers.

"I just go out there and play football," Bishop said. "It is what it is as far as that aspect, and I'm excited to have [Sutton] back. I'm just here to play football."
