With the 2025 NFL Draft wrapping up this evening, only one player that declared for the Draft after finishing their college career with West Virginia has been drafted -- Jacksonville drafted Mountaineer offensive lineman and in-state native Wyatt Milum with a third-round pick.
But while Milum was the only Mountaineer to go straight from Morgantown to the 2025 Draft stage in Green Bay, another player that was selected on Saturday began his career in the old-gold-and-blue before transferring elsewhere.
Kaden Prather, who began his collegiate career playing his first two seasons under Neal Brown at WVU, was selected by the Buffalo Bills with the 240th overall pick of the Draft. Prather finished his collegiate career in his home state with the Maryland Terrapins, with a pair of impressive seasons landing him on the radar of NFL scouts.

The Montgomery Village, Maryland native played for the Mountaineers from 2021-2022, where he played a significant role in the WVU offense. During his stint with West Virginia, Prather hauled in 64 receptions for 674 yards and three touchdowns, including a 100+ yard receiving effort against Baylor in 2022.
Prather transferred back home before his junior season and continued to shine as a receiver in the Big 10 -- with the Terrapins, Prather recorded 98 catches for 1,290 yard and nine touchdowns over two seasons, including another 100+ yard performance in a 29-28 homecoming win over USC as a senior.
Prather joins Milum as the second player to be drafted this season who played underneath Brown during his tenure coaching WVU.
