The West Virginia Mountaineers have to get through one more game before they reach their well-deserved bye week.

To get themselves to their week off, they must get through a road game against the TCU Horned Frogs that is set for kickoff in just a couple hours. Let's take a look at the final betting odds and predictions for the contest.

Final betting odds for West Virginia vs. TCU

The line has continued to jump upward after TCU opened as one-score favorites, and on Saturday morning, the Mountaineers sat as 10.5-point underdogs. The over/under points total is set at 58.5 points.

Final predictions for West Virginia vs. TCU

The West Virginia Mountaineers and the TCU Horned Frogs, as we've written about earlier this week, are really the perfect match-up for one another.

TCU's offense is among the worst that West Virginia has faced this season in the Big 12. But West Virginia's defense is the worst Power 4 defense in the nation. So which side of that battle ends up breaking will likely go a long way in determining the outcome.

But who breaks in the other match-up on the field will also play a big factor. The Mountaineers have one of the best offenses in the FBS, and the Horned Frogs have one of the best defenses in the FBS. Which side will make more plays?

If West Virginia's offense gets going but their defense isn't able to stop TCU's lackluster offense, it could be yet another down to the wire shootout for the Mountaineers. But if TCU's defense is as good as advertised and has an answer for West Virginia's offense, but their offense can't join the rest of college football in toppling the Mountaineers defense, it could be a low-scoring affair.

I'd predict somewhere in-between. West Virginia's offense likely isn't going to score as much as they did in recent weeks. But TCU's probably isn't going to slow them down quite as much as other offenses they've faced.

Likewise, West Virginia has the momentum defensively from the final stop in a big win, so against a bad offense, they'll look better. But TCU will still find a way to get some points on the board. In the end, that leaves a game where someone has to make a couple big-plays to win a tight game. And after last week, I trust Michael Hawkins Jr. is that type of player for West Virginia.
