As initially reported by HailWV last week, Wofford co-Defensive Coordinator and inside linebackers coach Andrew Warwick has been named to Rich Rodriguez's staff at West Virginia. Warwick will serve as a senior defensive analyst and assistant linebackers coach for the Mountaineers.

"Andrew is a great addition to our coaching staff, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a proven track record of developing players at a high level," Rodriguez said. "I'm confident that his work ethic and leadership will make a significant impact on our team's success moving forward."

Warwick spent the last three seasons at Wofford, where his defense has been ranked solidly in the top half of the Southern Conference the past two seasons during a rebuilding period for the program. Prior to that, he spent three seasons on staff at Troy under current Michigan offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey. He also has spent a season at Jacksonville State in 2018 -- before Rodriguez's tenure -- where he led a defense that was ranked in the Top 15 of the FCS level in his first season in an on-the-field coaching role.

Warwick reunites with former coaching partner and current WVU Defensive Coordinator Zac Alley -- the pair served as lower-level defensive assistants under Dabo Swinney and Brent Venables at Clemson. Warwick was on staff at Clemson from 2012-2017 and he served as an analyst on the same staff as Alley when the program won the 2016 National Championship.
