The West Virginia Mountaineers don't know how to quit – and American loves them for that fact.

With their backs against the wall for the second time in three weeks, the Mountaineers were in a must-win situation on Tuesday as they face the Troy Trojans in an elimination game at the College World Series. And after making it to Omaha for the first time in program history, West Virginia was not going away without a fight.

The Mountaineers rolled to victory, securing a 12-0 shutout of the Trojans to send them home from the event and to secure their opportunity to play on – at least for one more day. Now, WVU will move onto to face the North Carolina Tar Heels on Wednesday after being handed their first loss at the College World Series by UNC this past weekend. And if WVU wants to advance to the College World Series Finals, they must defeat the Tar Heels two times.

But all that is in the future, and for now, WVU fans – as well as neutral baseball fans from across the country who the Mountaineers have won over in recent weeks – are celebrating the fact that their team is now among the final four teams in the country still playing.

The Mountaineers went viral once again for their dominant performance, and the fan base is thrilled to see the program on the precipice of the ultimate prize on the sport. Check out some of the best social media reactions to the team's victory below, and tune in tomorrow as the Mountaineers look to keep their season alive once again.
